‘Having watched Koru grow and develop since meeting Andrea in 2006, I have seen outcomes for children and young people supported by Koru with such tangible benefits to their lives. Becoming a Director enables me to be part of the company bringing my own experience and knowledge and sharing in the nurturing Koru ethos’.
Chief Officer with Poole Communities Trust, a charity working in Poole to connect communities, providing access to skills and information, food and health support. Key work has been development of a youth offer and team to work with children in two of the wards of highest deprivation - Bourne and Turlin Moor.
Career highlights have included working with a group of five colleagues to establish the first Arts Team Mutual in England in 2015. Hannah worked in partnership with Dorset Council to undertake a leadership programme delivered by the Cabinet Office, and this led to constituting The Arts Development Company CIC. Whilst Working as Senior Manager for the company she delivered on programmes of work for young people facing barriers to employment, a programme mentoring young disabled creatives and a skills exchange with an Indonesian cultural organisation.
Hannah won a tender to influence commissioning frameworks with the British Council, leading a network of UK social enterprises in research and consultation. Prior to that she spent ten years working in arts education for the local authority in Dorset, championing the role of the arts and access to culture in children’s lives.
Hannah has a particular interest in equality for children in terms of their opportunities and experiences throughout childhood. She has been a Safeguarding Lead in several organisations and is a trained gardener with a strong attachment to nature and the vitality it brings to be within it.
